About scanning at our pregnancy- and ultrasonicclinic At an ultrasonicscan you use ultrasonicwaves, who through a soundhead on the ultrasonicmachine is send through the mothers anterior abdominal wall into the pregnancy/fetus. there sonicwaves send signals back to the machine through greatones, forming a screenshot. The machine is connected to a flat panel, where you
can see what is going on.

The quality of the pictures you get to see at the screen, depends on several different factors.
The mob of amniotic are of a greater matter, because reduced amniotic means that the sonicwaves cant be led as free and the different fetus parts cant be seperated as easily.

The distance from the soundhead into the fetus have decisive meanings to the picture quality. Which means that the seating of the uterus, disrupting gut and enlarged fat layer on the mothers stomach helps absorbing the sonicwaves. There will not be returned af many signals and the pictures will be more coarse and simplistic.

Within the past years there has been a rapidly development within development of scanning apparatus.
The apparatus we use at our clinic is a Voluson 730 Pro, which is specially developed to scan pregnant women og can both be used to traditional 2D scan, where you see the fetus in silhouette and to 3D and 4D. At 3D pictures depth i added, so that the picture
will look more like a photography. 4D means that time i added, as a new dimension, which creates an opportunity to make a small movies sequence.
For many years of research it has not been posible to detect adverse side effect after use og ultrasonic waves. |
